"I'm Lew Schoonmaker, class of 1953. My years at Clarkson were some of the best of my life, and prepared me well for the challenges that came later on. I have planned several gifts to Clarkson to say thank you and to continue that tradition for future generations."

Gift Planning

The Miss Annie Society

The Miss Annie Society recognizes all those who have made a deferred gift to Clarkson University and encourages others to consider similar plans. Membership in the society is open to all who have provided for Clarkson's future through their estate plans or some other type of deferred gift. It may be as simple as putting Clarkson into your will for a certain sum, establishing a life-income plan, naming Clarkson as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy or retirement plan, or giving your home to Clarkson and retaining the right to live there for your lifetime. The society was established in 1993 in honor of "Miss Annie" Clarkson, niece of Thomas Clarkson, who made one of our first planned gifts through her will. Her spirit, drive, compassion, intelligence, and vision make her a most worthy model for all who plan a gift for Clarkson University.

You can continue the vision of Annie Clarkson and help lay the foundation for the future of the University. If you have already made a plan for Clarkson, thank you. Become a member so we may include you in the Society. If you wish to include Clarkson in your charitable plans, we can help maximize your gift for you and the University.
